Work in progress - felted scarf, silk and wool scarf
Let me introduce you to this hand-felted shawl, which is a union of smooth and delicate Australian merino wool (18 microns) and silk fibers. This kind of silk (called “silk laps”) is shown in the final pictures. It’s a see-through, delicate silk web; I dye it and then work it with wool and silk threads. The wool is placed on both sides of the silk fabric, yet the layer is very thin, which makes the shawl light and thin, delicate, and even almost open-work.
