Burial of the Sardine 🔥 This tradition marks the fiery end of Carnival across Spain. Cross-dressers in mourning attire dramatically led the sardine through the streets of Las Palmas to Playa de Las Canteras (where we sat in anticipation). Everyone rushed to the beach to watch the final moments of the sardine. Luckily we were able to stand closest to the water and watch the burial up close (most people didn’t want to get wet).
