Made these into mary janes & used velcro for the closure. Instead of sewing buttons on & making buttonholes, I sewed on Velcro dots. My daughter said these are MUCH easier to use for a squirmy baby AND the booties stay on better also!! Even though both of these yarns were labeled as sport weight yarns by me years ago, they felt more like a DK and the bootees measure 4” instead of 3 1/4”, so they are much larger than the newborn sizes of 3”, so I would say the size is more appropriate for a…
