Kerr Clan Crest: The vikings termed marsh dwellers “kjrr”. When their descendants arrived in Britain from Normandy with William the Conqueror the term had become a name with the forms Ker and Kerr, also Carr and Carre.
Forrester Clan Crest: Derived from the name of the ‘forest keeper’. Archebaldus Forestar witnessed a grant by Gillemor filius Gilleconel to the church of Leshmagow in 1444, and in 1190 William Forestarius’s house was one of the boundaries of the lands of the church of Molle.
Dewar Clan Crest: The Dewar’s are known to have first settled in an area to the south east of Edinburgh, Legend has it that they were awarded the lands for killing a wolf who had been terrorising the area.
