1923 Men Seeding The Hillside During The Construction On The Hollywoodland Sign
These Classical Paintings Have Been Completely Transformed By Adding Funny Drunk Texts
The iconic Hollywood sign when it was first installed in 1923 (They dropped "LAND" from the sign in 1949)

This aerial photograph was taken in 1923 and shows us the where Laurel Canyon Rd emerges from the Hollywood hills into West Hollywood. Laurel Canyon isn’t the curving road in the middle of the shot, but the one trailing out of the hills on the right. Of particular interest (to me, at least) is that in the bottom right corner, we can ju-u-u-u-ust see a glimpse of Alla Nazimova’s home that in a few years’ time she’d turn into the Garden of Allah Hotel.
