We increasingly encounter the confusion that technology is creating art. We are invaded by perfect things, perfect designs and perfect “everything”. Dry lifeless objects obtained from pressing some keys, “created” by the feelings of a software. Gina Pórtera opposes the digitized art as well as the perfect objects. She has never confirmed this to me but her entire career and her art speak for herself. Anyone can see and understand that her hands created sculptures of imperfect shapes…

It is not easy to break from the city facilities, to draw away from the metropolis marvels, from civilization, technique and from all that implies social life in an urban environment. Gina Portéra chose this path to complete herself as an artist and to not altering the inspiration needed to create her splendid works of art.
