Argentine Short Skyvan, Stanley, Falklands, 1982. Aermacchi MB339 and Beechcraft T-34C Mentor trainers and light attack aircraft, in addition to the ubiquitous IA 58 Pucara were all based at Stanley. Chinook’s, Puma’s, A109’s, Skyvans and S-2E Trackers also used ‘La Estación Aeronaval’ during April.  The first to arrive were four Pucaras from Grupo 3, on the 2nd of April. The S-2E trackers arrived on the 3rd but had left within ten days.

A Royal Navy BAe Sea Harrier FRS1 (s/n ZA190) from No. 800 Naval Air Squadron on HMS Illustrious (R06) taking off from the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) on 22 October 1984. This Sea Harrier was delivered in 1981. Lt. Steve Thomas destroyed two Argentine IAI Daggers (C-404 and C-403 of Grupo 6) with two AIM-9L Sidewinder missiles flying ZA190 on 21 May 1982. It crashed after a bird strike on 15 October 1987, the pilot ejecting safely.

Foto tomada el 13 de mayo en Río Gallegos. Al día siguiente del bautismo de fuego del Grupo 5 de Caza (misión de ataque a la Glasgow). En la foto se ve el primer Kill Mark pintado en un A4 y al Suboficial Córdoba haciendo como que lo estaba pintando. Los que aparecen en las fotos son los sobrevivientes de ambas escuadrillas (Vázquez de una, Zelaya, Arraras y Dellepiane de la otra). Douburg aparece también señalando el barquito pintado en amarillo como Jefe de Escuadrón.
