The Andean Condor (Vultur gryphus) is a species of South American bird found in the Andes mountains and adjacent Pacific coasts of western South America. Has a wingspan of up to 3.2 m (10.5 ft) and is a national symbol of Chile.
Diucón - Chile -- The fire-eyed diucon is a passerine bird of South America belonging to the tyrant flycatcher family Tyrannidae. It is usually placed with the monjitas in the genus Xolmis but was sometimes placed in its own genus Pyrope in the past.
The unique Juan Fernandez Firecrown, Sephanoides fernandensis, is an insular hummingbird restricted to only one island in the Juan Fernández Archipelago, nearly 700km off the coast of Chile. Classified as critically endangered, it is one of the most threatened birds in Chile and the world. Conservation measures are being taken to try and avoid this beautiful hummingbird from joining the list of extinct species.
