Laima Ceramics on Instagram: "When you are making 300 plates for a restaurant you get inventive about how to make this process more efficient 🙃  Step-by-step video for easy wheelthrown plates with no trimming required (!!!)  1. Prepare slab rolled stoneware slabs (5-7mm for stoneware) with 1-2cm extra around the edges and dry them enough that they are not sticky anymore but still soft enough to bend slightly (takes at least 4hours) 2. Place on coated plywood boards or similar  3. Stick 3 blobs of clay on the wheel (best if the wheel size is identical to the board size- makes centering not necessary 😉) 4. Put the board on the wheel and tap lightly  5. Measure with callipers (I cut 32cm for final size 28cm plate (after firing) and 27.5cm for 24cm final size plate)  6.
