Sharyn Kish on Instagram: "Here are a few ways to use those mini fly swatters… 1. Teacher (or family member) says a word. Students “swat” the beginning sound heard in the word dictated. (Great phoneme to grapheme practice) The first one to slap it gets to grab it from the table. Play until there are no more cards. 2. Play the same way but students listen for the middle vowel sound. **You can change up the game to listen for ending sounds in the words dictated. 3. Sound Circle. Lay out letter cards on the table (or use post-it notes). Students use a whisper phone and “fun” pointer to walk around the table and “whisper” read the letter and sound for each card. (A great way to informally assess and provide immediate feedback) #kinder #kindergarten #kindergartenactivities #firstgradetea

Farah Ghazale on Instagram: "Five Activity Ideas to help your child read consonant vowel consonant words 1- Drive to read : Simply draw three circles and two roads add a sticky tape on the circle to write and wipe. Say a consonant vowel consonant word and have your child first listen to the sound and segment the word, then write the letters and read again by driving the car to each letter. 2- pinch the peg and fill in the missing vowel: on a popsicle stick write the consonants in the beginning and in the end and on pegs write the vowels, have your child read the words as they swap vowels. 3- using two cups twist beginning sound. On one cup write the beginning consonant sounds and on the other cup write the middle and end and cut a hole in the beginning. Make sure cup is turned upside dow
