Technically all of my pieces combine macrame + weaving, but I feel like this style shows off both crafts more clearly so I call this the macraweave ✨ I always start my macraweaves by choosing the fibers I want to work with - usually it’s a handspun yarn I’m feeling inspired by, or a velvet ribbon that I want to use - for this piece, it was both! I start by building my macrame base, then fill in the top woven section. I like to feature the velvet in this top section and some of the handspun (if I have enough) that can then connect with the florals in the main section. I love putting the palettes together, especially when I’m grabbing a bunch of different tones of the same color. I love yarn! Happy new week!
