A malasada is sort of like a doughnut without the hole. We fry generously-sized balls of dough until the crust is golden brown with a light and fluffy inside. Because our dough is made with the finest ingredients, you get a malasada with a sweet toasted flavor, both crunchy and chewy. Hawaii eaters love Spam so much they consume more per capita than anyone else in the U.S. The most-popular way to eat it? Spam musubi, where a slice of the canned meat is placed on a rectangular block of rice and wrapped in nori (Japanese seaweed). Da Kitchen takes it a step further by breading it and deep-frying it, then drizzling it all with kabayaki sauce. It’s salty and sweet, with carbs and protein — a perfect snack for people on the go.

Andy on Instagram: "day 3 of making musubis for you, season 2 Twin, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?? Alright okay, so we have another Hawaiian classic plate, made pocket sized. This is actually my FAVORITE fried chicken of all time, and yes, I love it more than Korean Fried Chicken. Don’t get me wrong but the garlic mixed with mochiko flour has its own taste factor I can’t find anywhere else. I sometimes make this without rice and just wrap nori around the chicken as well, making it a fun party snack too. I usually save the excess batter and fry with a strainer make little mochiko flakes for other recipes, I’ll post that up on story in a bit! Til then, enjoy my musubaes🫶 Mochiko Chicken: 1-1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs 1/4 cup mochiko flour 1/4 cup corn starch 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup soy Mochiko Chicken, Mochiko Flour, Soy Sauce Eggs, Nori Sheets, Spam Musubi, Classic Plates, Fry Chicken, Cook Rice, Korean Fried Chicken
