Hadde et mål om å bruke mer fargerike klær i 2017 (i tillegg til selvsydd). Det er fortsatt litt svart og grått som går igjen, er noe trygt over de svarte klærne jeg stort sett har levd i tidligere, men merker at jeg setter mer og mer pris på å få farger inn i garderoben. Som denne genseren her som er blitt fast uniform på ettermiddagene. I finished up the #farrowdress from @grainlinestudio this week and I love it. My first time around I used some linen I picked up at Ikea. It’s a little heavy but it’ll do. I LOVE the pocket design detailing. I’m less in love with the arm hole facings (especially in this heavy fabric). Next time I might finish them with bias tape instead. I finished my Tamarack Jacket by @grainlinestudio in a squishy fabric from northern Thailand. I think it’s double gauze; I noticed at least 3 layers when I cut into it🎵ahhht squish it, squi-squish it real good. Swipe to see the contrast stitch detail (that’s how the fabric came - I didn’t do all that!) In fact, this is probably cheating because the Tamarack is a quilted jacket pattern but I didn’t quilt a thing 🤫. So I guess it’s more of a cardigan than it is a jacket, but I’m ok with that. I put some effort into sewing bound buttonholes for the first time, and they turned out pretty nice! They survived the dryer, pictured here post-laundry. The paper pattern, lining and buttons are from @knitandbolt. This is how i spent my snow day, and pretty much the only way I want to make clothes from now in! This is the #alderdress from @grainlinestudio, view B made from an old men’s flannel shirt. I kept the original button placket and collar, used parts of the cuffs for belt loops, kept most of the original hem and added a big ole patch pocket on the front! There were only a few scraps left, and I used pre made bias binding for the arm holes to give them a little extra structure. Love love love this-

Keeping it real today with a water splotch on my pants, my happy selfie face, and my cuddle bunny who is not a bunny and acts like a dog and licks me all the time. ---- This account has become so much more than just an ootd platform and I was really inspired by the braveness of @giaochi__ and @yenalin who recently shared their battles, as well as that of my close friend, and I wanted to share that I am really new to this (two months in since taking meds). I look perfectly fine and have been asked why am I "like this" when I am so lucky (to have a cute cat, a husband, a house and a decent job), but having these do not equate to happiness. Having to handle a sometimes quadrupled workload, vertigo, eating problems, finding a house, dealing with renovating, wedding planning and uncooperative parents (to put it mildly) at the same time was driving me over the edge. When I confessed to other close friends of problems, they'd dismiss it. I considered harmful actions. Well, it's been only two months, but I'm significantly better. For example, I handle situations more calmly and one huge improvement is being able to sleep alone at night soundly. I used to have an almost paralysing fear of being alone at night and would switch on all the lights, refuse to fall asleep and snap awake at the smallest sounds. (Maybe too many horror movies when I was younger.) Long story short, my husband was recently invited on a work trip to Tokyo to give a speech at a university, which is a fantastic opportunity, but he wanted to decline as he would worry about me during the week-long trip as my family members would be overseas too. I insisted on him going. Now it's been about five days in and I've been sleeping normally every night. That may be nothing to most people, but it's a major achievement for me. I hope opening up too helps more people see that there's nothing wrong with seeking help. The openness of other people is what made me realise that I should take that step too and I am very glad I did.
