So I wanted to build a nice bench so I could chill out in the garden. This is the prototype that I made for the fire pit. Garden one comes next.
After some hand rubbing and wiping the excess stain...it came out pretty nice I think. Oh by the way...the blocks are held together with Loctite Masonry Adhesive.
This is my very first attempt at gardening. Starting out with a cheap raised bed kit and a few containers.
Need to protect the wood from the elements so I'm staining it with "Cognac" stain.
Well that was awesome and down to earth! Now to go for the catalog and get something to direct sow...What shall it be???
Just to be on the safe side I will be adding 5lbs of Rock Dust and 1 lb of Sea 90 minerals just before I top the new bed out. This should see a nutritious bed for my plants. Shout out to John Kohler from growingyourgreens.com for sharing his knowledge to help me get the best soil going that I can!
It is very nicely composted but it does need screened. I built a rough frame and am sifting and only Allowing 1/4" pieces to get through.
Even after giving a load of starts away to friends for their own growing I am needing to do another bed. This is organic compost that was free from the town transfer station. It is composted yard waste. Even though I live in a different town I was still given permission to load my truck.
And Breathe....and Puussshhhhhh.... The birth of the baby!
Well I'll be...going from Caterpillars to Aphids...time to switch from BT to Neem Oil and squash this quick! I guess they like Blackberries!
