Extremely Rare Celtic Coin, Pannonia, 2nd-1st Century BCThis beautiful silver tetradrachm is a Kroisbach type with Reiterstumpf variant minted by an unknown Celtic tribe. It shows the bare head of Apollo on the obverse. The reverse shows a rider on a prancing horse and a twisted exergual line terminating in torcs. It sold at auction for $9,488. (map of Pannonia)

Trinovantes. Tasciovanos, c. 25 BC - AD 10. Stater (Gold, 16-18mm, 5.38 g), Warrior series B. Crossed wreath motif, one curved, and with two opposed crescents at the center Rev. TAS C Warrior on horseback to right, holding carnyx; to left, right and in exergue, ringed pellet. ABC 2565. BMC 1620-22. VA 1730-5. Rare. Well centered and clear. Good very fine

The reverse shows an ornate running Celticized horse with a sun-scepter above it and a lyre-shaped object below between two suns.
