Biblioburro really exists! He's the rural mountain version of a bookmobile. Use the short Spanish reader: "Peter va a Colombia" from www.spanishcuento.com to introduce students to this magnificent man and his mobil library. For lower elementary use "Waiting for Biblioburro" by Monica Brown.
short stories to use in Spanish class. Love all of these, and I remember reading most of them at one time or another.
I just found this great, short 9 minute video on YouTube for the "Personal & Public Identities" theme. I used it as a "warm up" activity. Our class had great discussion about it after viewing. The students enjoyed it & it is chock full of rural Mexican culture & great to hear one of the indigenous languages. One can make up a ton of questions for this.
