MARÍA ZAMBRANO. Filósofa española. A los cuatro años se traslada desde Vélez (Málaga) a Madrid, y de allí a Segovia, donde transcurre su adolescencia. Desde 1924 y hasta 1927 cursa estudios de Filosofía en Madrid asistiendo a las clases de José Ortega y Gasset, de Manuel García Morente, Julián Besteiro y de Xavier Zubiri. Durante este periodo participa en movimientos estudiantiles y colabora con diversos periódicos.
