Alzheimers disease by the numbers :: As the American population ages, more and more people each year will be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Already today, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer’s. To support them 11 million people are providing unpaid care — emotional, physical, and financial toll on family caregivers. To face this public health crisis, we’ll need breakthroughs in prevention and treatment. And we’ll also need to find better ways to support Alzheimer’s caregivers.
