Eleanor of Aquitaine: Queen of France, Queen of England, Duchess of Aquitaine in her own right, and Mother of two English Kings, and two European Queens. A brilliant politician, a patron of the arts, and one of the most powerful and influential women of the middle ages. She died at the age of 82 in 1204. “She was beautiful and just, imposing and modest, humble and elegant”; and, as the nuns of Fontevrault wrote in their necrology, a queen “who surpassed almost all the queens of the world.”

Ludlow Castle~ The Princes in the Towers spent most of their childhood here.  Prince Arthur and Katherine of Aragon spent their honeymoon here.  This is where Prince Arthur died thus making Henry VIII next in line for the throne.  Prince Arthur's heart (which means his organs that could not be embalmed) are in St. Laurences Church in Ludlow village.
